CATTAIL VASE

Weller vase in the Ardsley patternQ: I have a vase with cattails and flowers on it. Can you tell me who made it and anything else about it?

A: You have a Weller vase in the Ardsley pattern. The flowers on the bottom are water lilies. Weller pottery was founded in 1872 in Fultonham, Ohio, and moved to Zanesville, Ohio, in 1882. The company closed in 1948. Your vase was probably made in the 1920s. The vase was made in two sizes. The 12-inch size sells for about $175, the 8-inch size for $45 to $70.

I appreciated seeing your Weller vases. I have a pair of these that are 19". Are they umbrella stands? That was always my assumption. Thank you. CK Clifford

I have a very thin mayonaise with a color of something close to lavender. Instead of a logo, it has the word STEUBEN etched onto the bottom of both the bowl and 6" under plate. Can you tell me an approximate age and value?

I have the original 1906 "Oakland Herald" 3:30 edition - 4/18/1906. This is the complete newspaper (not just the front page). It is well worn with time and being placed in a bedroom drawer. My Grandma handed it down to me (she remembered the day).
I feel it should be valuable, but I have no idea what is it's actual worth?

I have a 1906 Russian Samovar with circular imprints in the metal, assuming brass. The samovar is large, no teapot, unfortunately, long spigot. I say 1906 because the newer of the imprints indicates 1906. One other imprint is dated 1904, I believe. The other imprints of which there are many, have no dates and are all written in, I'm assuming Russian. Can you tell me approximate value. Thank you. Sandy
