Treat your furniture the same way you treat your face. Wash it to remove the dirt. You do not want to remove the skin. Don't sand too much or use a "dip strip."
Wash my antique furniture? This advice scares me. I have an antique oak "fainting couch" with original upholstery, probably over a hundred years old. I think someone would have to hold a gun to my head to make me "wash" it.

I'd like to know what you would use to "wash" your furniture. Thanks.
