OLD SCRAPBOOKS

If you have an old scrapbook filled with trade cards, photos, and other mementos, remove any paper clips, pins, cellophane tape, or colored fabrics. They will degrade faster than the paper pieces. Put a sheet of interleaving paper between the pages to keep the scrapbook entries from coming in contact with the acidic paper used to make the scrapbook. It is available online.

I have a scrap book my mother put together as a school project. Newspaper clippings from when she was in the 6th grade. A Gas explosion at a school in New London, TX school is featured - any idea as to how to preserve it - other than benign neglect?

Do you know how to remove items safely from old scrapbooks?
I would like to make a collection of the old trading cards, but don't want the newspaper phoos, ect. that are in the book.

I just received 4 scrapbooks this week. What are the popular items that people look for in these collections?
