To make a reproduction box for a jigsaw puzzle, assemble the puzzle, scan it into a computer or copy it on a color copier, then paste it on a suitable box. You can copy parts of a puzzle and enlarge them to make a substitute for a missing piece.

I would have a difficult time trying to get the assembled puzzle (especially 500 or more pieces) on either a scanner or a copier. A better idea would be to scan or copy the picture from the original box or snap a digital picture of the assembled puzzle.
