HEADSTONES FOR U.S. VETERANS ARE AVAILABLE

Did you know that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will provide a government headstone for an eligible veteran's unmarked grave in any cemetery in the world? The headstone or marker is free, but some cemeteries charge a setting fee. Go to www.cem.va.gov/cem/hm-hm.asp.

When completing the application don't assume the goverment person reviewing the applications knows U.S. history...The family of a "revolutionary war" veteren requested headstone and was denied twice...First time: family didn't indicate if the veteren was in the army or "airforce". Second time: the veteren's "social security number" was not listed! Duh!!
