RESTORING OLD CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS

Don't try to restore old Christmas ornaments. A little damage and wear add to the charm of old ornaments. Wear indicates the ornament is an antique that has seen many holidays. Restoration lowers the value for collectors.

I get great pleasure everytime I hang the same ornaments on my tree that have been hanging on our family tree since the 50s.

Growing up we always had cats that would sometimes knock over the tree, so I am surprised these glass ornaments survived.

I think the colors are more rich than currently manufactured ornaments.

I have several old Christmas ornaments that were my great-grandmothers. They date back to 1883 when she was married. They are in perfect condition and are made of a heavy material. I just love them. Is there a value to any of these besides sentimental? Thank you
