Earth Day celebrations encourage us to be "green" Collectors are. We recycle furniture, saving trees and power, and we buy old (not new) pottery, silver, jewelry, cookie jars, and even doors and fireplace mantels. And who hasn't noticed that the antiques you buy at shows and flea markets are often wrapped in old newspapers. Keep it up! And teach the younger generation to turn off lights and computers when they're not using them.

Terry, I am 70 Y/O and grew up as a youngster during WWII and the recycling period. We are a wasteful country and all the good stuff is antiques. I have a Thonet chair, a 19th century oil painting valued at 10,000, a 14 Kt. gold double rope bracelet for 50 cents. It's all in the chase, isn't it. Nothing is more satisfying than when you refinish a piece that has been painted over...The old stuff has lasted for years and will continue to do so...we just need to realize the beauty in same.
Keep up the good work and I will be a faithful reader as I have been for almost 20 years.
